Run for a good cause

Modise Koofhethile

Entrepreneur, avid runner, and Chairman of the Y Care Charitable Trust, will continue with his mission to run a ultra marathon over 390 kms in 6 days, and this year he is running from Motlhabaneng to Sefhare, to raise awareness on Diabetes and Cancer in those remote villages where there are limited health resources, and to raise funds to support the campaign and other charities supported through Y Care Charitable Trust and youth in sports & Culture across the country.

Y-Care Charitable Trust

Is a non-profit making organization governed by a Board of Trustees and a team of volunteers.  Founded in 2005, the Trust seeks to raise funds for less privileged communities around Botswana. Y Care started from an inspiring dream to walk across the Makgadikgadi Pans to raise funds for charity with the first Makgadikgadi Pans walk taking place in 2003. In 2018, we are organizing the walks for the 16th year and over P5 million has been given out to charities from the walks!

Y Care Chairman’s Challenge

Is an initiative that was founded three years ago by the Y Care Board Chairman Modise Koofhethile as a stimulant to raise more funds for the Trust.

Y Care Chairman's Challenge also aims to use this platform to create health awareness in general and motivate the nation to adopt a health conscious lifestyle. This platform will seek for a long term relationship with the corporate world or public to participate on this planned awareness campaign, and where possible participate by forming relay teams which could join the run.

The initiative also promotes the importance of living an active and healthy lifestyle to the youth residing in several village communities located along his running course.
